Pumkin Painting

This year the kids wanted to paint their pumkins, which was ok by Scott and I. Less mess and with Chaysee much easier. The loved putting on a Lowes shirt and getting the paint everywhere. For what it was they look pretty good. The conversation that went on while the kids were painting was hilarious.
Zek do you like my pumkin
Mya that looks great, look at my patterns
I love family night
Mya look I made teeth
Mom I need teeth like Zek
Can I have blue paint
Mom I mixed all the paint and its still black
oh look at this
WoW that looks nice Mya
Mom look what Mya did
We did a great job

A great man passes

Today grandpa Lee left us to join his family. We know he is in a better place and we are thankful he is no longer suffering. He will be greatly missed. Thanks for all the great times.

Playing in the Rain/Sunday Dress

It rained yesterday and Mya thought it was wonderful to splash in all the puddles. I hope she doesn't get sick. She loved looking at the rainbow and kept searching for the end. Today the girls wore their new Christmas dresses (a little early I know-but it was cold and I have had the dresses since February, they were my $8 find). The picture of Mya in her Halloween outfit is for Lisa-Happy Halloween!

Chaysee gets earings

I forgot to take my camera with me, but Chaysee got her ears pierced today. She was very brave and only cried for a minute. You would not believe what people said about me, while I was holding Chaysee. One lady walked out of the store and said I was cruel. Others just shook their heads. We did see some that told us they were cute. I never really thought people had such strong opinions about this, but apparently they do. I just figured my mom got mine pierced and I don't remember it so I never associated it with pain. I thought my girls would appreciate the same. I can take care of the earings, so they don't get infected and they don't bug them because they aren't old enough to know they have them plus it lets anyone who questions know that I have a girl and not a boy right? I know they are hard to see but they are little crystal flowers and they are so cute.

Funny Things

So lately I haven't taken a lot of pictures, but I keep catching the kids saying the funniest stuff. The other day we were heading home and zek says "Mom, when I go to college can I take the Wii?" My first thought was where did this come from and then I just said college is a while away. In the middle of my thinking he says "Mom, Mom, I promise I will take care of it I am really good at playing it, so can I take it with me?" I just started laughing. What 6 year old do you know that is worried where the wii will be when he goes to college. The next story is even better. A couple of weeks ago my mom bought Zek a treat (let me tell you it was a king size symphony and the stipulation was that he only eat half and save the other half for another day) so as he and my mom get in the car (this was after school, so I wasn't there) and Zek proceeds to eat the candy bar, my mom gets a phone call and when she is done she asks Zek where the other half is and he just says, "I ate it." My mom then explains to him that he shouldn't have done that and that there would be no snack before dinner, he didn't care and didn't even feel bad about eating the whole thing-I don't know if he didn't listen or if he just ignored her but the funny part is yesterday on the way home my mom had to stop at the grocery store and Zek got a candybar and told my mom he'd broken it in half. Now my mom thought he was going to save half, because of what had happened last time. So when grandma asked for a bite he said "its gone." She said, "what do you mean its gone I thought you broke it in half." He said, "I did, and I ate it." He thought that by breaking it in half and just eating half at a time he was making a good choice, because he didn't eat it all at once. LOL! the jokes on grandma.

All stories aside, we are doing well. School has kept me really busy, for some reason after 8 years of no school, it seems very difficult to get back in the swing of things. I am taking English, which I thought would be papers-nope its all grammar. YUCK! I also have health and wellness and then American Governement which seems like a waste of my time, I'm sure its not and their is something great about the class, but I have yet to figure that out. If anyone knows please let me know.

The kids just keep growing. Mya has had a fever the last couple of days, but other than that feels fine. Zek moved up 5 reading levels and went from "The sea otter lives in the ocean." to "Volcanos produce lava when they erupt." I wish I could scan in and show you the difference in the homework, its tremendous. He actually has to try now :) Chaysee just keeps getting bigger. It seems like she only gets to wear an outfit twice and the third time I go to put it on its like she grew out of it. She loves eating regular food (if you call ceral and baby food regular) and will only drink about 3-4 4oz bottles a day. Now if we could just get her to sit???
