For Mom

I was talking with my mom this week and she asked if I had updated my blog. I said, "no we haven't had a very interesting week." She reminded me that when your grandkids are faraway its always interesting. This week I had parent teacher conferences with Zeks teacher and she said she doesn't know what else to teach him. His dibbles scores are all off the charts (i.e. a regular score is 18 he scored a 52 in one of the sections). No wonder he gets bored at home he isn't really getting challenged. Oh and just for everyones info. Zek has decided that he will start collecting bannana peels. LOL! not going to happen. Funny story he thinks he needs to start collecting something because grandma naylor collects spoons, Lisa collects globes, Julie collects shot glasses his cousins collect rocks (which he did not want to do) and grandma patty used to collect tins. So he was so excited when he came up with the idea to collect bannana peels-then I had to break his heart and tell him he couldn't collect bannana peels.

I had a doctors appt. this week and everything looks great only 8 more weeks to go!! Although I am hoping less :) Mya has been sick all week and really isn't getting better eventhough she has been on antibiotics for 3 days, so I guess we will see the doctor again this week. On Friday we get to go to the Draper Temple open house so I will update then.

PS Sorry Mom Zek did not want his picture taken this week, He still loves and misses you.

This week has gone by so fast. At the first of the week we had snow and now it is warm and melting. I am hoping for spring, but Scott said we are suppose to get snow next week. Zek had presidents day off and loved having his cousins come to play. Wednesday we went grocery shopping after Scott was done working and we hadn't had dinner so the kids asked for every thing imaginable (since they were hungry). Note to self: Do not go grocery shopping when kids are hungry. Thursday I took the kids with me to my 3D ultrasound and the baby stuck her tongue out at them. Mya loved seeing the baby, Zek said "thats all we came for" I think they were expecting to actually see her, but oh well. It was cute to watch them as they looked at their new sister that will be coming.

Cute Things Mya said this week.

12:00 p.m. after taking Zek to school and going to the post office
"Mom its been a long day."

Tuesday afternoon Mya comes into the sewing room to find my, she wants to put pjs on.
"Mom can I put on PJs" (naked as a J Bird)
"Mya where are your underware?"
"In my pants mom"
"Where are your pants?"
"Downstairs I took them, I want PJs"
"Ok but you have to wear underware"
"Why?"
"Because"

It goes on and on.

For Tracy!/ Happy Valentines

Happy Valentines Day! This post is mainly for Tracysbenefit. She told my mom that I don't fix Myas hair so here it is proof that I do fix her hair everyday. There has only been 2 times that we've lived here that I have not fixed her hair. 1. I was sick all day. 2. I was in the emergency room, but Scotts mom still fixed Myas hair. P.S. Its not my fault that Mya decided she needed bangs-I don't even know where she got scissors and I have yet to find any hair.

Today is Valentines Day and the kids are really excited. We are having a Valentines Dinner at Drew and Brittanis and the kids can't wait. Things here are going well. Scott is working on a dresser for the girls to share and has been busy with work. I am just ready to be done with this pregnancy, but since its not time I guess I will have to hang in there. Zek loves school, especially P.E. Mya has learned to play really well by herself. Her favorite thing to play with is her princess figurines and of course her baby.

Summer time?/My spoiled children

I guess my kids are ready for summer. Well who isn't. Today they received a box from Grandmas house filled with all the goodies for summer including swimsuits, flops, v-day dress, jacket and more. Thanks to Tonya, Tracy, Nani and Grandma for the goodies. While Mya wanted to model hers, Zek was not as interested so no picture for him. As you can see from the pictures Mya wore her swimsuit all day and is still wearing it (to eat, nap and play). P.S. There is still snow outside and the high was 28 today. Mya asks us to go swimming everyday. I guess we'll have to take them to the rec center so they can swim in February.

Things here are good. Zek is reading his unit 19 book in the readwell program and loves it once we get him to sit down and read. Apparently he had a school bus incident this week. On Monday he came home with a scratch on his neck and I asked what happened. He ignored me and gave the dirtiest look a kid can give. Finally after asking and asking he said a boy on the bus was going to beat him up. After following up with Grandma and the Bus driver, apparently Zek and this boy are friends one day and enimies the next. They both bug eachother just to the others reaction. Boys will be boys I guess.

Today I learned that I am now mean and rude but after all that he still loves me. Sometimes I think being a mother isn't very rewarding but then at night when its time to lay down and go to bed I get to hear the sweetness of it.

New Outfit from Grandma

Mya loves her new outfit from grandma patty. She also enjoyed the treats and the flip flops. Even though it is cold here Mya is ready for summer. I have decided that having a 5 year old is a lot of work. You think you want them to go to school but that creates more arguements. I.E. "Zek you need to read to me," "Zek its time for lunch so you can go to school, " "Zek please come get dressed," "Zek we need to go now." This 1/2 a day school thing has been a real challenge for Zek and I. So those parents that think they want 1/2 day kindergarten. Let me tell you full day was much easier.
Zek and Mya are missing Washington. The other day we were watching home videos and Mya said, "see thats the house I want to go to." (It was my parents house). When you ask her why she hasn't visited she'll say, "its too far and we need gas money." Apparently we've taught her well or she overhears us say this to Zek and has picked up on it. So hopefully we will be able to visit soon. Although I don't think it will be before the baby comes.

The Mess Makers

The potty training is going well, so far. Mya is catching on quick and learning really fast. Her and Zek now have a new game the play. I thought it was called "the biggest mess you can make" Zek and Mya have informed me that they are actually playing that they are going to the temple (naylor grandparents work there on fridays) and they need all the purses and boxes full of stuff to be their "temple bag." Sometimes I just don't know with these two. They definately make me laugh. I think they quite enjoy themselves, that is until its time to clean up. So the pictures are what I get when I say "go and start cleaning the basement-I'll be there in a minute." No cleaning whatsoever. Just jumping on the bed and getting even more dressed up. Myas hair is so big because we took out her messy buns in her hair and shook her hair. Its amazing how big curly hair can get. LOL!

We are all doing well down here and are looking forward to spring. I know its far away but I am hoping it will come sooner this year. We have had nice weather this week and can't wait for all the white stuff to melt. Thank you everyone for your comments. Hey kristen I need an invite to read yours. We love and miss you all.

Potty Training

Alright it has started. The goal is to get Mya potty trained before April. She is doing pretty good. We have only had a few accidents (knock on wood). She loves her princess panties and is working hard to keep them dry. Zek is back in school and I am very glad to have a schedule back again. We have decided to name the baby Chaysie and we will be coming to WA for the blessing, so grandpa Iverson can be there. We are excited for the new year and we are looking forward to warmer weather. Zek wants to take grandpas boat out and is really worried about it being in the snow. He doesn't understand that its been winterized. We enjoy talking to family on the skype camera and we are so greatful for all we've been blessed with this holiday season. Thanks for your comments. I enjoy hearing form everyone. :)
